The Clean Air Bill
The Clean Air Bill is legislation that aims to make the “Right to Clean Air” a basic human right. It is supported by the Ella Foundation, which was founded in memory of the first and only person to have “Air Pollution” as a cause of death on her death certificate. She was just 9 years old when she died.
Around 40,000 deaths are caused in the UK every year because of air pollution and this piece of legislation is vital to prevent further deaths.

The Climate and Ecology Bill
The Climate and Nature Bill is legislation that is being supported by the organisation, Zero Hour. It is a cross-party framework piece of legislation that aims to enshrine into UK law the commitment to halting and reversing biodiversity loss by 2030. It would do so through the use of citizen’s assemblies (meetings with the general public) to develop a plan that works for everyone and the planet.
It is rapidly gathering support but more MPs are needed to support the bill in order for it to pass. This is perhaps our most important legislation for protecting nature in the UK. Click on the link below to find out how you can support.
Switch It Green
Personal finance is one of the least spoken about impacts on the climate crisis, but may be the largest part of your carbon footprint.
Many banks invest in fossil fuels, but as consumers we have the power to move money away from organisations that conflict with our views. With some of the biggest fossil fuel investors, every £1,000 saved in a current or savings account contributes the equivalent of 1% of your carbon footprint.
Switching bank accounts in the UK is very easy but infrequently done. Switch It Green aims to help individuals make the most sustainable choice with your banking. If able, switch your bank to one that doesn’t invest in fossil fuels and let the bank you are leaving know the reason why.*
This may be the most powerful thing you can do in the fight against climate change.
